Yoga festivals are the best time. You create a schedule of different yoga/fitness classes and workshops that you want to try, all while meeting new friends along the way. You get to enjoy time in nature, swim, hike, shop, eat and relax. The point of the yoga festival is to have you connect with yourself and the community around you and gain an appreciation for nature by interacting intimately with it. Muskoka Yoga Festival encourages you to ARRIVE and be present in nature, engage in community and immerse yourself in all kinds of practices for your body and mind.
What does the Festival Pass include?
If you purchased a weekend pass for MYF you will have access to plenty of activities for the whole weekend. This includes all workshops (except for a handful of workshops like SUP Yoga that require pre-registration), the Forest Run on Saturday morning, camping, live music, ecstatic dance, and the opportunity to immerse yourself in our beautiful community to create everlasting friendships!
Do I need to be an experienced yogi to attend the workshops at MYF?
Absolutely not! This festival is an amazing opportunity to explore yoga whether it’s your first or five-hundredth time taking a class. We’re also offer way more than yoga. We have different workshops for every guest including: meditation, dance, pilates, fitness, sound healing, advocacy, mental health, and MORE. Our schedule will be popping up closer to the date, to stay in the loop sign up for our e-mail list at the bottom of this page!
Is the festival family friendly?
Yes, all are welcome! This is a family friendly event. Kids 10 and under can attend the festival for free! We may offer kid yoga, depending on number of children registered to attend the festival, but we will not offer child minding. There will be one 19+ area where children will not be permitted, but other than that, we are a family friendly event!
What happens at the festival other than programming?
We’ve designed the weekend for you to have an epic time! There will be a vendor market on for the whole weekend and yummy vegetarian food available too. On Saturday and Sunday we will have designated time to enjoy lunch with the community where no workshops will take place. There will be a 19+ tent with some great local alcohol sponsors to enjoy drinks throughout the afternoon and evening if desired.
What about music?
On Friday night we’ll have a live artist preforming and campfire jam sessions and on Saturday night we’ll have an ecstatic dance and live concert with more campfire jam sessions afterwards.
Is there camping? How does the camping work?
Camping passes will be available at an additional price on top of the Weekend Pass and only available to people who have purchased a Weekend Pass. PLEASE NOTE: Camping spots are limited and will be first come first served. You will only be allowed to put up a tent in the camping area as no trailers or automobiles will be allowed in the camping space. Camping spots are not transferable and if you’ve received one and do not plan to use it, that spot will go to another festival guest.
If I want to camp with my trailer or motorhome, where should I go?
There are many campsites close to the Festival site where you can park an RV overnight. Simply search for campgrounds in Rosseau, Ontario.
What if I don’t want to camp or want to camp off site?
It’s all good – camping isn’t for everyone. There are lots of lodges close by where you can stay for the weekend and all are extremely comfortable. Check out any of these:
Also remember all the beautiful Bed & Breakfast’s and Airbnb’s offered in the Muskoka area!
Will there be food and can we cook?
We are a vegetarian festival and will be providing a variety of yummy and healthy food options over the course of the weekend. We have several food vendors and are looking at also offering a ‘MYF Food Pass’ which can be purchased in advance so people can buy all of their food beforehand. Guests are allowed to bring their own food, however, we kindly ask people not to bring meat on to the campgrounds. There will be no cooking facilities provided and all food brought in must be properly secured at night time.
Are there showers?
